A Researcher's Diary - 100th Blog Post

Dear Diary,

I would like to dedicate today’s entry to you, my reader. Today’s entry marks 100 blog posts. Since 2017, I’ve been writing for A Researcher’s Diary, and publishing on the 15th of every month. Here we are, June 2025, and I plan on posting and celebrating this moment.

My dearest Diary reader, I hope you celebrate this entry as well because we’ve shared great learning moments. We have created several series: A Food in Development, Global Perspectives, Seasonal Poems, and Super Searcher.

We have celebrated prospect researchers as superheroes, and learned how to sketch out prospects before starting on prospecting projects, the possible reasons a prospect decided not to give, inquired about qualification plans, sought renewable advice for a new year, had really honest conversations with Black fundraisers, learned helpful strategies for portfolio analysis, answered some frequently asked questions about prospect research, held a Q&A for the Diary, focused on the fantasy of net worth, celebrated disqualification, created a gift table together, talked through mature portfolios, created helpful pivot tables, shared some story times, and so much more. We have learned so much since 2017!

Thank you for going through this journey with me. I hope you stick around and share with friends and colleagues because we have so much more to creatively uncover and discuss.

When I created this outlet, I wanted to document my journey as a new prospect researcher, and I wanted to share what I was learning. Today, my journey continues with readers from Australia, London, California, New York, to France, Chicago, New Orleans, and many more places.

I sincerely appreciate you for continuing to read my Diary.

Until next time, July 15th!
